Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspections

Inspections can be done in MD, VA and all Federal Facilities. Inspections can be performed in accordance with the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC), which references the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) or Naval Facilities Engineering Command & Naval Facilities (NAVFAC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency and the VHA (VA) Boiler Plant Safety Device Testing Manual.

National Board Inspection Code Repair and Alteration Certifications

In accordance with the NBIC Repairs and Alterations to boilers and pressure vessels shall be inspected and certified by an Authorized Inspection Agency. MIWA represents current or prospective National Board "R" Stamp Holders as their Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) or provides Quality Assurance (QA) Inspections for clients that contract with "R" Stamp Holders doing repairs and or alterations. As a "R" Stamp Holders AIA we approve the Repair or Alteration method through the process of certifying the object. In performing Quality Control Inspections for a Client who has contracted with a "R" Stamp Holder we ensure that their investment is in accordance with the National Board Code. Either way MIWA provides an invaluable service in the repairing and altering of this equipment.

Structural Welding Inspection

Certified under the American Welding Society (AWS) as Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI). MIWA performs Structural Welding Inspections in accordance with various AWS Codes, including D1.1, D1.3, D1.5 and Pipeline Welding Inspections in accordance with ASME B31.1, B31.3 and B31.9. Examinations are done by visual method and non-destructive examinations.

Our History

MAC Inspection & Welding Agency, LLC (d.b.a. MIWA) was formed in June 2012. Accredited under the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors in November 2012. Commenced performing Repairs & Alterations to Metallic objects designed to ASME Codes (Section I, IV, VIII Div 1).

Expanded capabilities to include AWS structural welding certifications and inspections of bridge assemblies.
